About Swachh Hasth Abhiyan

Swachh Hasth Abhiyan is a hand hygiene awareness campaign that aims to emphasize the healthcare workers, food handlers, hoteliers and the general population about the importance of hand hygiene in the healthcare settings and hotels. The objective of the campaign is two fold:

  • Make healthcare workers more aware and sensitive about cleaning their hands before touching a patient.
  • Make the general population more conscious about the hand hygiene status of their healthcare providers.To emphasize the significance of hand hygiene in food safety.

The campaign will be launched on May 05, 2015. May 05 has been declared as the World Hand Hygiene day by the World Health Organization.
